Golf Swing
Training Aids

Golf swing training aids like video analysis can be a waste of time and money - used incorrectly.

Modern video analysis is, far too often, just another cover up for poor teaching. Breaking the swing down and identifying faults does not help the pupil take the swing forward, so he spends his or her golfing life trying to correct a never-ending series of faults.

The assertion that every person is different and unique is at the heart of the problem and is, quite simply, a 'cop out'. Ben Hogan was one of the great players closest to mastering the game, as well as understanding the mechanics of the movements.

Unfortunately his book 'The Modern Fundamentals' does not give away any secrets. Ben Hogan understood how simple the golf swing is and stated that everyone should shoot in the 70's.

Regrettably, despite discovering the secret himself, he did not choose to develop any exercises or give any explanations that might be passed on to other golfers.

As a result of all the confusing details and technical points made about the swing, nobody has any real idea how they should be carrying out their practice routine. The consequence is that very few golfers achieve anything like their true potential.

The key to using golf swing training aids like video analysis effectively is to have a good understanding of the Correct Golf Swing - so you know exactly what your swing should look like.
